Step It Up

I love the chats I have with my trainer during workouts.

No, really.

Ok... mostly.

We have a good time.  She gives me crap for eating crap.  She punishes me for not working out enough. You know the drill.  This week was no exception.  The only difference was tonight... I got homework.

As in - this is what you're doing for the week and before we start our next workout, you're weighing in.

Bah!!! She's on to me! It's good - for her. For me - I'm scared. ;) So here's this week's homework in case you were wondering:

Monday - W/ Michele
Tuesday - Praise Moves (Christian yoga)
Wednesday - Home workout provided by Michele
Thursday - 3 mile walk
Friday - OFF
Saturday - 30 min workout video
Sunday - walk or off

On my off days I'm to do work with the foam roller - stretching and such. So it's time to get off my duff. Oh - and quit eating crap.

Pretty sure I'll be starving by New Years.

During The Workout

Let's talk music.

Do you let your ipod randomly select music for you or do you have set playlists for each workout (cardio, weights, etc)?

When I workout with the trainer, we listen to whatever's on at the gym. Half the time we talk too much to know. :) During my walks I have a set playlist. Sometimes during races I let the iPod just shuffle through my music. When I workout at home, I'm usually doing it in front of the tv.

Here's my playlist (don't make fun... lol):

Party In the USA (Miley Cyrus)
Stronger (Mandisa)
Take a Back Road (Rodney Atkins)
Good Morning (Mandisa)
Waiting for Tomorrow (Mandisa)
The Climb (Miley)
Don't Stop Believin' (Journey)
Fly Over States (Jason Aldean)
Freedom Song (Mandisa)
Move (Mercy Me)
Tattoos On This Town (Jason Aldean)
Born Again (Newsboys)
Jesus Freak (Newsboys)
Drunk On You (Luke Bryan)

Quite the selection, huh?  What are your favorite go to workout songs?

Weekly Planning

Since I've been down for a week, that's put a damper on my goals for February. Yes, I know I've had three weeks, but you should know by now that I'm a procrastinator. :)

So -- on Wednesday I'm trying Title Boxing Club. This was one of my goals for the month. Due to Ash Wednesday and Fit Club being cancelled because of weather, I haven't been there all month either. I'll push that goal to March! :)

My weekly workouts are as such:

Monday - Going to shoot for trainer day. With the incoming snowstorm I'm not sure that'll happen. Back up plan is doing stairs and ab workout.
Tuesday - Zumba (weather permitting)
Wednesday - Title
Thursday - Day Off
Friday - Running?
Saturday - Zumba

Since I'm basically sharing about my monthly goals, next week I'll tell you about my random acts of kindess for the month (1 per week). Happy Sunday!

Monday Planning

Here's my schedule for the week:

Monday - I'm restarting couch to 5k. Week 1, day 1
Tuesday - Two Class Tuesday!! Ab/Core with my trainer, then Zumba
Wednesday - Week 1, day 2 (c25k)
Thursday - Day off (will do the 50-50-50 challenge with sit-ups)
Friday - Week 1, day 3 (c25k)
Saturday - Zumba

That will be give me 7 days for 30 minutes. I need to figure out to get my fitbit tallies for the week to post so you guys can see what I do in a day. Having a desk job, it's not very much, but I try. You're supposed to get 10,000 steps in ("they" say), but my goal is usually 5,000 and I'm lucky to make that some days.

I've also realized it's pointless for me to cut things out of my diet -- dessert and bread, etc. It's about moderation, not giving up. I don't know about you, but if I give something up, I want it even more!!! :) So - my new goal is to eat nothing processed, and bread/pasta is going to be whole wheat. My friend Marybeth makes bread ALL the time, so she sent me some whole wheat pita bread, sandwich wheat, and multi-grain. I'm super excited to try them and have FRESH bread!! Kind of an oxymoron after all the cutting out of bread lately, huh? HA!

That's all for Monday, people! Get MOVING!

Squat Challenge

It's almost mid-month, how are we doing with our goals?  I'm not doing too bad actually, even on the squat challenge. I forgot to post what the challenge is, but here it is if you'd like to join me for the rest of the month. :) We're on day 13, so it's 75 squats!! So far the only day I've missed was yesterday, so I'll be doing 145 throughout the day - 3 sets of 49 to make it easy math.

I hope you're enjoying getting ready for the Holidays and not letting it stress you out! I think this is the first Christmas in a long time where I haven't been worried about gifts. I'm going to Nebraska to see my family - and that's all I need! I'm so excited to see them and hang out with my brothers.

Ok - it's time to start my day... with some squats! :)

New Friend

This last week was my birthday and I took a little trip to Charlotte - more about that later.

About a month ago I told my mom that I wanted a FITBIT. So... While in Charlotte I bought one. And I love it!!!!! It tracks steps, stairs, distance, calories, and even sleep. I sync it with myfitnesspal to create one big online tool. Maybe now that I have a better idea of what I burn, the scale will move!!

What online tools do you use?
